I see you added an extra graphic explaining stroked lines in AI! XD
But goodness, how long did it take to translate?

My friend added that. It's still photoshop. Click "toggle the brushes panel" [link]
and you will see this [link]

It took us about 5 or 6 hours to translate, not including the time of revising and typesetting. I think it's not very long.
The hardest part of this tutorial was the process of generalization and summarization, and you have already done that part.lol

Ah I see. Can't read Chinese at all, so nice for clarifying. :D Stroking paths with brushes is possible in ps, though for making lineart I wouldn't recommend it. It applies them in an automatic way that is very obvious they weren't added by hand - lacking the finer control and visual spontaneity that is appealing in pen tool shapes. And also, of course, strokes of brushes aren't vectored so they lack editing malleability. But some people choose to stroke paths with brushes for certain effects/textures, such as hair strands for example.

Anyway, since I can't read Chinese, this is my view of the matter in case you added anything extra to explain that new graphic. :)

5 or 6 hours eh? That's a good day's project! Faster than I expected since I would think there'd be nuances in English that might be hard to translate well. In comparison the original took me around 3 days to compose, typeset, and take screenshots. XD

Exactly as you said.
We will add this additional explaination in.
Actually there are a lot of people using "SAI" to do the lineart. It's a very small and friendly software.

Your explaination were pretty clear and easy to understand. Since we understand everything, the translating is not gonna be hard at all lol.

That's what I meant. The hard part is composing and arranging all the screenshots. I have experience making some tutorial too, so I understand that :目

Actualy I've read your tutorial long time ago. Since recently some friends(including carrot, who translated most parts of it) asked me about vectoring. I cannot think of anything that is better than your toturial to explain to them. So we just translate it ~ now all of my friends could read it in Chinese

X3 Yep I have SAI too. It has some nice painting blending effects, but it lacks my favorite photoshop layer blending modes and other features (I don't think it can do vector masks, which is what I abuse in ps), so I just end up doing ps all the time. XD

Thanks, glad you found it clear and helpful (for you and your friends!). Hope they enjoy it!
